Hi, I’m Tasha, a postpartum doula on the Boston Area Doulas team. I have 12 years of experience working with infants and toddlers. I diligently and proudly work to create long-lasting, trusting relationships with families. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked as lead teacher at the Ellis Early Learning Center in the South End for 8 years. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care. My goal is to make sure all babies in my care feel safe, loved, and well-supported to grow and develop. After having my own child, I was compelled to train and certify as a doula because I realized how critical it is to have support when you have a young baby. My philosophy as a postpartum doula is to provide exceptional care for anyone within the postpartum period. I want every person--regardless of their background, identity, financial or living circumstances--to experience what positive support looks like after birth.

Advice to expecting or new parents: We conquer tasks one day at a time.

Outside of doula work, I enjoy spending time with my child and family, cooking, listening to music and going out for walks.

Childhood aspirations: accountant or teacher

Check out what one of Tasha’s families said about her:

“What I loved about Tasha was that she really helped coach us as new parents, but gave us advice in a way that was empathetic and didn’t make me feel judged or stupid… In those sleep deprived months, she pulled me out of those low moments.”
