Hi, I’m Marie, a postpartum doula on the Boston Area Doulas team. I have always been drawn to babies. I love everything about them. I was always the person in my family that would be found holding the babies at gatherings and holidays.

For the past 28 years, I have been an esthetician and for the past 14 years an esthetics instructor as well. I consider myself a healer and I use energy work in my practice.

As a professional postpartum doula, I have been fortunate enough to be able to combine my passion for babies with my abilities as a healer. I use a combination of love, energy work, and baby massage to soothe and comfort babies in their first few month of adjusting to their new surroundings. I get great pleasure and satisfaction from caring and nurturing the babies, as well as helping and supporting the parents.

As the mother of two children, all grown up now, I know what sleep deprivation can do to new parents and how important it is to have an occasional good nights sleep and recharge!

My advice to parents of infants: Enjoy the process. Don’t get so caught up in everyone else’s story. Enjoy your own journey. Everyone is different. Yes, it can be overwhelming, but try to relax, focus on the positive. We are here to help you and support you.

I have been married to my husband Martin for 32 years. We have 2 wonderful and successful children, Marty 30, and Hannah 22, and our first grandchild Luke! We were blessed with an amazing daughter-in-law when Marty married his love, Kelsey. We also have 3 rescue dogs (who think they are children) and we foster dogs when we can. When I'm not doula-ing or with families, I also enjoy reading and the ocean.
