Hi, I’m Lisa, a postpartum doula on the Boston Area Doulas team.

Before becoming a doula, I nannied full-time for 8 years and have worked with children and families for the past 15 years. Prior to that, I worked in a daycare during college. My most favorite ages to care for are newborn through age 4 or so. Most families I babysit and nanny for have had a toddler and recently welcomed their second child into the mix. It’s a happy and complicated time for the whole family, I feel lucky to have been able to experience and assist with it multiple times over the years!

My advice to expecting or new parents: Be gentle with yourselves! Don't judge your feelings and try to focus on your accomplishments.

Outside of my doula work, I enjoy yoga, going on hikes, playing with other people's dogs (I do not have my own!), and making soup.

Childhood aspirations: pastry chef

Check out what one of Lisa’s families said about her:

“We are so thankful for all you’ve given to this family and all the love, creativity, energy and guidance that you’ve poured into Avery and Aden. We always knew they were in great hands and could go forth confidently in our days knowing this as a parent. That is such an awesome gift!” -AL
