Hi! My name is Denizia and I’m a postpartum and infant care doula on the Boston Area Doulas team. At 7 years old I knew I wanted to be a neonatal nurse, by middle school I wanted to be a midwife. I was inspired to become a doula because of my love for birth and mothers. My own daughters are 14, 9 and 8 years old. After one of my births, I did not feel supported, and developed postpartum depression because of that trauma. Once overcoming that, I knew I wanted to support parents and families as they brought their babies into the world. Before becoming a doula, I worked in homecare for 7 years with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients as a homecare provider & companion. I went on to study nursing in college. I’m excited to chat with you and support your family!

My advice to new parents: It goes so fast. Take it day by day.

When I’m not doula-ing, I love photography, being a foodie, dancing, art, traveling, and spending time with my family.
